CONEY ISLAND CARTEL PRODUCTIONS started out as a mere dream for Brooklyn-born couple, David and Nina Santamaria. For one thing, David was always deeply interested in music, live sound and professional audio. As a teenager and into his college years he worked as a DJ, both live and on the radio. He played drums in a locally distinguished band across the tri-state area and then went on to the accredited audio school in New York City, the Institute of Audio Research (IAR) where he graduated with highest honors. Although he’s been involved in the industry since the age of 15, he’s been full-time in the business since 2001. Dave currently works at Sam Ash Music, the leading professional music store in the country. He is the number one salesman in the entire chain – and for good reason: he knows his stuff! Dave is formally trained in live sound, recording and studio sessions, system design and installation. If you’re looking for an audio guy – he’s your man.
